In submitting this nomination, the person making the nomination affirms they have complied with the following conditions of entry:
- Nominees for the award must be full-time professional employee drivers or truck owner/operators currently working as a local, medium or long distance driver.
- Nominations can be made by anyone, but selfnominations will not be accepted.
- A minimum of 7 years continuous experience as a professional driver.
- A good driving record with a demonstrated focus on safety, attested to by a copy of a road agency traffic record that must be submitted with the nomination.
- One or more signed references from authoritative sources, such as the nominee’s fleet manager or chief executive must accompany the nomination.
Selection Criteria
- Describe the person’s character, personality and interests.
- Career history – list the employers, years served and positions held.
- A high degree of pride in their personal presentation and their vehicle’s presentation.
- A high degree of skill and experience in freight handling relevant to their field.
- A professional attitude towards their job, their customers and the industry as a whole.
- A strong interest in furthering the professional image of the industry, as demonstrated by their actions and interests.

- The award is open to organisations which operate full-time in the Australian trucking industry.
- Organisations may nominate themselves, but third party ratification of the nomination’s claims is necessary. (e.g. insurer, compliance consultant/auditor)
- The award is not open to individuals.
- Nominations must be received by the ATA no later than the closing date. However, late entries or supplementary material may be accepted at the discretion of the judges.
Selection Criteria
- Organisation Profile. Provide a snapshot of the nominee. Write about its beginnings, relevant corporate achievements, principals, principles, etc. Maximum one page (A4) summary.
- Define the objectives of your training program or initiative specifically addressing new entrants to the transport industry? Maximum half page (A4) summary.
- Implementation. Maximum one page (A4) summary.
- Define the strategy and identify key contributors and stakeholders.

- Provide details of the formal employee training policies and procedures in place.
