Launch of TMC2017 website and registrations

10 August 2017

The Australian Trucking Association (ATA), in conjunction with the Australian Road Transport Suppliers Association (ARTSA), has launched the Technical and Maintenance Conference 2017 (TMC) website and it is open for registration.

The conference will be held at the Automotive Centre of Excellence (Kangan Institute - Docklands) in Melbourne from Monday 16 October to Wednesday 18 October, 2017.

“This year’s conference is bigger, with expanded exhibition space and additional product training workshops, and is relevant to everyone from apprentices to fleet managers”, said ATA CEO, Ben Maguire.

The focus is on knowledge sharing and learning from others; getting factual and relevant information directly from the trainers, speakers and regulators.

The program this year includes:

  • Chain of Responsibility and ensuring your maintenance practices comply
  • New VBS6 Modifications code and what it means for operators and maintainers
  • National Heavy Vehicle Inspection Manual updates and roadworthiness/maintenance from rigids to road trains
  • PBS advance sessions

During the course of the conference, the program will also cover a range of technical topics, including engines, brakes, and tyres. In addition, there will be hands-on demonstrations of world leading technology.

TMC2017 kicks off with an opening lunch sponsored by Cummins where the 2016 Craig Roseneder Award winner will share his TMC experience over the last year. The PACCAR Parts Fun Night will allow people to network in a casual environment while the Castrol Vecton Awards dinner will celebrate industry successes.

The Cummins Scholarship Program will also offer three scholarships to TMC2017 for qualifying applicants and Natroad will sponsor three up-and-coming young employees (under 30) from their membership to attend. Details for each of these programs as well as award nominations will be released soon.

Sponsors for TMC2017 are Paccar Industry and Dealer, Castrol Vecton and Cummins South Pacific.
