The ATA’s travelling safety and careers exhibition, the Road Ahead, will feature at the 2011 Green Light Transport and Logistics Day in Sydney next month.
The Green Light Day will be held on 26 August 2011. Secondary school students from across the state have been invited to attend and learn about a career in the transport and logistics industry.
The day will kick off with a launch event at the MLC Centre in Sydney, and continue with open days at Axima Logistics in Smithfield, the Qantas Centre of Service Excellence at Alexandria and RAAF Richmond. The Road Ahead will be at Axima Logistics site.
ATA Chief Executive Stuart St Clair said the Road Ahead exposed students to the range of employment options within the trucking industry.
“As Australia’s population and economy grows, the demand for goods and the means to transport them are increasing. As a result, there are great careers available in the industry,” he said.
The ATA recently launched a supporters’ program for the Road Ahead, inviting trucking operators and their staff to support the exhibition.
Businesses that sign up will have their support promoted on the ATA website and in its publications. Exclusive graphics will be provided for supporters to use on websites, emails or stationery, as well as invitations to Road Ahead events when it’s in their local area.
