29 March 2018

The Australian Trucking Association is excited to announce the full Trucking Australia 2018 program.

The event will be held at the National Convention Centre, Canberra, from Wednesday 18 to Friday 20 April 2018.

“Trucking Australia 2018 will drive the industry’s future with a number of key initiatives,” ATA CEO Ben Maguire said today.

The ATA welcomes His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia to open the Trucking Australia 2018 Welcome Breakfast, and Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack as a keynote speaker.

“We are thrilled to host both His Excellency Sir Peter Cosgrove and the Deputy Prime Minister, as well as industry experts who will be delivering all-important workshops throughout the course of the conference, focusing on the new master safety code, mental health and safety communications,” Mr Maguire said.

“We’ve partnered with Teletrac Navman, Seeing Machines and Canberra Innovation Network to deliver a fatigue hackathon, Swinburne University students will deliver presentations on how our Volvo ATA Safety Truck can better target young drivers, and we will hear how our Daimler Future Leaders plan to address key industry issues,” he said.

Trucking Australia will bring together an impressive list of expert speakers, delivering vital workshops and showcasing all that Canberra has to offer.

“The ATA is proud to be hosting these essential workshops and are pleased to deliver more networking events than ever before,” he said.

Trucking Australia 2018 delegates can experience the region’s finest food and drink at the Canberra Showcase Dinner, share stories at the Kenworth Legends Lunch, and bid for exclusive items at the ATA Auction Dinner. Industry peers can cheer on the winners of the 2018 National Trucking Industry Awards at the ATA Foundation Sponsors Gala Awards Dinner, sponsored by BP, NTI and Volvo.

“If you haven’t already registered to attend the conference, I strongly encourage you to do so,” Mr Maguire said.

“This event is a must-attend for all transport professionals and a highlight of the industry’s year,” he said.
