Automated driving systems must be subject to independent, no-blame safety investigations, the ATA submission to the NTC consultation RIS on safety assurance for automated vehicles says.

The submission makes three recommendations in response to the RIS, and argues that transparent and effective safety investigations would help build the public’s acceptance of automated vehicle technologies.
