The Australian Trucking Association supports the development of Australian Standards DR AS 5340 Design of livestock loading/unloading ramps and forcing yards/pens, with minor amendments. The draft standard would improve worker safety, proactively encourage all parties to improve their safety and animal welfare status and lead to fewer and less severe injuries.
