Australian Dangerous Goods Code review: working paper 4

25 July 2023

Wheel chocks should not be required for Australian dangerous goods vehicles, the ATA says in this submission to the NTC’s comprehensive review of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code.

In recommending against a wheel chock requirement, the ATA submission backs up the preliminary view in NTC working paper 4 but provides supporting information and evidence.

The submission confirms there is no identified benefit to requiring wheel chocks to be carried on Australian DG vehicles. The braking ADRs safeguard against unintentional rolling.
